 Announcements:

         This Sunday, join the Melrose Alliance Against Violence for their 22nd Annual Walk & Candlelight Vigil. Registration begins at 3:00pm here at MVMMS, the Candlelight Vigil starts at 4:00 and the walk begins at 4:30.

        Tryouts for the MVMMS Boys Basketball team will be Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 24th in the MVMMS Gym. Tryouts for the MVMMS Girls Basketball team will be Monday, October 30th and Wednesday, November 1st in the MVMMS Gym. On those days tryouts will be:

6th Grade: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
7th Grade: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
8th Grade: 8:00 PM – 9:00PM

 

         The Veterans of Foreign Wars annually sponsors a scholarship contest for middle school students in grades 6-8. This year’s Patriot’s Pen Essay contest theme is America’s Gift to My Generation. Information is  available in your history classes or in the main office. All Essays are due back to the main office by October 24th. Information is also available for the Veterans History Project, Youth Groups Supporting Our Military, and the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award.

          Picture Retake Day is next Wednesday, October 25th. If you were absent and would like to order pictures, please use your original order form, or pick up a new form in the office. If you are having your picture retaken, return your original package to the photographer on retake day. Retakes are only offered for students who paid for a package or were absent on picture day.

           Next Friday, October 27th, is Think Pink Friday. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so wear pink next Friday to show support and help remind everyone of the importance of finding a cure.      

             Remember to clip and drop off your Box Tops for Education in the first floor office to help the school.
